WHY IT WORKS
MEET MONA
Launched in partnership with International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP), Mona is a chatbot that helps Syrian and Iraqi refugees navigate pathways to safety and connect with legal assistance. Mona screens refugees’ eligibility for resettlement and shares personalized information on pathways to safety. Mona refers relevant cases to IRAP for legal assistance and flags vulnerable cases to ensure a timely response.
IN THEIR WORDS
OUR PARTNERS
We receive hundreds of inquiries a week from people who are fleeing from persecution and violence. Using a chatbot allows us to get an initial picture of people’s circumstances rapidly using platforms that many of the displaced people are already using to identify resources and communicate with family. At scale, we hope that this will enable us to identify individuals much more rapidly for refugee resettlement, family reunification pathways, and other resources.
